GCP has undertaken a program of updating existing CHP plant equipment for some of it’s long-standing customers with the goal of increasing overall efficiency which is crucial for navigating the current economic climate.
GCP was able to meet the budget demands of the customers by locating and supplying low- hour ‘used’ generating sets with up-to-date fuel efficiency specifications. The projects were designed and built in- house by GCP’s team of skilled experts meaning no external contractors were required from start to finish.
Design and installation of 1MW CHP and catalyst reduction system for commercial nursery
The scope was to supply a complete CHP system into a brand-new commercial greenhouse in the North of England. The customer opted for a used, low- hour genset to fulfil the budget and specified between 0.5- 1MW with heat recovery and exhaust catalyst reduction.
GCP sourced a 1MW Jenbacher 320 generating set with <5k run hours. The heat recovery system was designed and built in- house at our Leicester workshop facility.
We saw potential for the customer to gain extra efficiency by using heat from the low temperature heating circuit which was also incorporated into the design.
Overhaul of complete fleet of Cummins QSV91G engines

Cummins QSV 91G updated control system
GCP has developed and integrated a Deif control system for this engine giving us enhanced control and accessibility. The new system has been rolled out on four of our gensets and has proved to be a success.
